The Operations Specialist is the “Pipeline Champion”. This role facilitates the processes of project development, design, estimation, permitting, and other preconstruction tasks. Aaron Johnson : Superintendent
Born and raised in Lyons, Colorado, Aaron Johnson had passion for outdoor activities from a young age. Following his graduation from Lyons High School he knew he wanted to stay in Colorado and secured a job in construction, recognizing his own appreciation for every job being different and every new job requiring a new way of thinking. He joined the PCB team in 2018 as a carpenter and enjoys the ever-changing pace of his vast range of responsibilities. In his time away from work Aaron enjoys playing basketball and is an active participant in Muay Thai, a combat sport from Thailand resembling kickboxing, both as a competitor himself and coach for young children starting off in the sport.
Lindsay Skala: Project Developer
Born in Boulder, Colorado, and raised in the southern part of the Denver Metroplex, Lindsay’s journey into home sales was a likely path from the start. Growing up, she often found herself in model home sales offices alongside her mother, who enjoyed a prosperous career in New Home Sales for as long as Lindsay could recall.
With a natural affinity for every facet of the new home sales process, Lindsay embarked on her professional journey at 21, joining one of the nation’s largest homebuilders. Over the next 18 years, she immersed herself in the field, honing her skills and evolving into a seasoned New Home Sales Professional.
Much of her career was spent in the dynamic, high-volume realm of production building. However, Lindsay’s true passion emerged in the creative and intricate world of custom building. Her motivation centers on guiding clients to realize “their American Dream” by being their dedicated advocate and guiding them throughout the process.
Beyond her career, Lindsay’s life is rich and diverse. In her free time, you can often find her passionately cheering on her son at his football games or embarking on cross-country adventures with her husband in their trusty camper. She’s also an avid fly fisher, a culinary enthusiast, and a skilled baker.
Lindsay’s unique journey and dedication to her craft make her a valuable asset to the Petra Custom Builders pack in her role as a Project Developer.
Sara Hugo : Designer
Sam grew up in North Alabama where he was introduced to construction at a young age. Coming from a family of construction workers, he has been on and around job sites his entire life. After graduating from Warren Wilson College he stayed in the construction field working under electricians, master carpenters, and framers. He made the jump from carpenter to superintendent while living in Utah working for a well-respected custom home builder. His favorite part of custom home building is the technical problem-solving needed to overcome job site challenges and the personal connections he’s able to make with every homeowner. When not at work, Sam can be found doing anything and everything outdoors with his wife, Claire, and dog, Merle. He especially enjoys all types of biking, running, bird watching, and reading.
Charlie Lee: Superintendent
Grew up in the Los Angeles area and is a graduate of California State University, Northridge with a degree in Business. Charlie spent the first 20 years out of college working in the accounting field, becoming a CPA. At the end of his accounting career, Charlie realized his love for remodeling and building homes. He started his own construction company and worked on all types of residential remodel projects for 18 years. Charlie joined Petra Custom Builders in 2022 as a Superintendent. Charlie lives in Louisville with his wife of 38 years. Away from work, Charlie enjoys bird photography and traveling with his wife, chasing our feathered friends. It’s a great way to get outdoors and enjoy all that Colorado has to offer.
April Wilson: Design Coordinator
April was born in Southeast Georgia where she spent her childhood playing on the beach and riding her horses. She moved to Colorado with her mom as a teenager. After graduating high school she went on to become a Certified Massage Therapist where she thrived until a hand injury ended her body work career.
Over the next couple of years she found herself working for a local flooring distributor where she quickly realized she had a passion for design and construction and all the small details the industry demands. She was blessed to be offered a position at a local home builder where she quickly proved her desire to learn and grow in the home building industry. She then moved on to be offered an interior design position where she excelled in building solid relationships with many industry professionals and clients. She strives for excellence in her work and relationships, both professionally and personally.
When not at work she can be found jet skiing at the lake with her husband and kids, watching her son wrestle and her daughter play competitive softball, or playing with her adorable English Bulldogs.
Leilani Loepp: Senior Interior Designer
Leilani’s roots trace back to the picturesque landscapes of Colorado, where she spent her formative years oscillating between the busy city life and the serene expanse of a cattle ranch on the Eastern Plains. After completing her studies with a degree in Interior Design, her professional journey has encompassed a diverse range of projects, spanning commercial tenant finish, residential remodels, and the creation of opulent custom homes.
With an illustrious career spanning nearly 20 years, Leilani has cultivated profound connections with her clients and partners, establishing herself as an imaginative and unwavering designer. Her passion remains consistent: to consistently attain the pinnacle of excellence in crafting unforgettable, meticulously tailored interiors that resonate deeply with each client’s unique life story.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Leilani finds solace in snowboarding, competitive volleyball, and relishing the captivating Colorado outdoors alongside her husband and their expansive family.

Troy Teague: Estimator
Troy is a Colorado Native, growing up on a ranch in Northeastern Colorado before moving to the Front Range and attending Lyons high school. Before joining the Pack, Troy started his construction career as a laborer for an exterior restoration company. Over the next 9 years, he worked up the ladder from picking up trash on projects, to managing production, and eventually becoming general manager of the company. Then he made the switch to commercial general contracting and started the journey of a professional estimator. For nearly 4 years he learned and worked his way up from junior estimator to chief estimator.
Over the years, Troy has estimated and managed unique projects of all shapes and sizes, from both the commercial and residential worlds. The highly custom projects Petra has designed and built over the years is the perfect application of Troy’s experience and passions. When not working, Troy can be found at local sporting events, on the golf course, at the lake, traveling, or helping a friend with their own construction projects.
Erin Brown: Design Project Coordinator
Erin was raised in Northern Mississippi where her passion for design was fostered by her dad. In her youth, she watched her father, a remodel and general contracting virtuoso, turn spaces into masterpieces. In the midst of sawdust and hard work, her passion for design was ignited.
She was inspired by his hard work and dedication to create beautiful spaces. That work ethic and vision inspired Erin to pursue a degree in Interior Design from Pikes Peak State College in Colorado Springs.
Over her two year career within the industry, Erin has honed her ability to connect with her clients on a deeper level and bringing their visions to reality. Erin’s inquisitive nature ensures she stays at the forefront of evolving trends and industry innovations, ensuring that her designs are always fresh and on point.
In her personal time, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband and her two golden retrievers. Her other hobbies include white water rafting, snowboarding, traveling, and painting.
Scott Hensen: Brand Marketing Manager
Scott was born and raised on the front range of Colorado where he developed a love for the outdoors and hands-on creativity. He grew up learning trade skills from his contractor father along with how to fix and build just about anything he dreamed up. Scott graduated from Colorado State University and went into a career in the bicycle industry learning a breadth of skills in marketing, sales, and customer service. Looking for a change, Scott pivoted his career by starting a custom furniture business applying his attention to detail and artisan mindset. Scott brings a creative marketing and sales perspective to the PCB team with a core focus on relationships.
When not at the office, Scott is either spending time with his family, creating something new in his furniture studio, mountain biking, skiing or hunting.
Savanna DeSantis : Staff Accountant
Savanna was born and raised in Michigan and ventured out to Telluride, Colorado after graduating from GVSU Seidman College of Business. She learned to snowboard and enjoyed managing a concept location for Vail Resorts. From there she and her husband carved out a life in the foothills of Colorado. She continued to grow with Vail Resorts – learning many new analytical skills and enjoying the mountains, until their daughter was born and life with littles changed everything. Now she is enjoying being a part of the PCB Pack, snowboarding, hiking, and adventuring with her husband and two children.

Jimmy Moore
Born and raised in Boulder County, Jimmy grew up enjoying working with his hands. His introduction to construction came as an early teen by way of working along side his dad, building an addition on their house. From then on he spent his summers working as an apprentice for a local contractor giving him a glimpse into all aspects of construction.
Post graduation from Lyons High School Jimmy attended the University of Wyoming on a wrestling scholarship. Following his career as an NCAA athlete Jimmy secured a position as a carpenter with a large commercial construction outfit, specializing mostly in building schools. He quickly moved his way up through the company, eventually into the role of Superintendent, the youngest one the company had ever known. After gaining the experience he was seeking, Jimmy branched out on his own and Petra Custom Builders was born.
Today Jimmy lives just outside of Longmont with his four children; Karson, Sheldon, Lawson and Graceon. In addition to spending time with his family he enjoys playing golf and target range shooting.
Brian Gurley : Superintendent
Brian Gurley, a native of Colorado, grew up in Louisville. After graduating from Centaurus High School he attended Metro State where he played hockey and then moved to Fort Collins to study Construction Management. In 2006, Brian moved back home and began working for a company framing residential homes throughout Boulder County. Intrigued by all aspects of building, Brian started his own company and before long before found himself as a long-term subcontractor for Petra Custom Builders. In 2014, he became an official member of the Petra Custom Builders team working as a project manager. Brian is the longest standing PCB employee. Today, Brian and his wife, Missy have two daughters, Brynn and Taylor, and spend their summers camping and boating.
Ryan Richards : CFO
Ryan Richards joined the team after five years as general manager at a local business. Ryan graduated from the University of Colorado in 2012 and has been engaged in a controller type role for seven years. Ryan is the third generation in his family to be involved in general contract construction. Outside of crunching numbers, Ryan enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, traveling to tropical destinations and researching new medical developments at a ‘hobbyist’ level.
Vadim Misko : Finish Carpenter
Vadim Misko was an industrial electrician in Ukraine. After moving to Colorado, Vadim started working as a carpenter installing interior trim, focusing on artisan finishes in new custom home builds and large scale remodels. Vadim joined Petra Custom Builders first as a subcontractor in 2003 and then transitioned into a full time member of the team in 2018. Outside of the workshop Vadim enjoys spending time with his two daughters.
Andrew Cain : Carpenter
Andrew Cain grew up in Vermont and following high school graduation enjoyed a career in culinary arts and spent a number of years traveling the States, primarily focusing on places he could hike, backpack, rock and ice climb. It’s no surprise his travels lead him to Boulder, Colorado where he started his career in carpentry. He worked for a friend for several years and joined the Petra Custom Builders team in 2016. Andrew, a true adventurer, is often found on backcountry trails enjoying all the mountains of Colorado have to offer.
Michael McFarland : Carpenter
Michael McFarland is a 3rd generation carpenter, born and raised on the coast of South Carolina. Michael found himself drawn to construction at the age of 3 after his dad built him his first skateboard. Following high school, he decided to try his hand at graphic design for a couple years but realized sitting behind a computer screen wasn’t for him. Going back to his roots, Michael went to work for his dad’s construction company where he discovered carpentry had become his artistic outlet. He worked mainly on residential projects, taking on a couple large commercial jobs on the east coast as a certified Pella installer. Michael moved to Colorado in 2018 with his dog, Aiken, for a much needed change of pace and scenery. He has since become fully immersed in the Colorado lifestyle, spending his free time mountain biking, splitboarding through the backcountry or shredding powder at the ski resorts.
Braddon Reese : Carpenter
Braddon grew up in Boulder and recognized early on that Colorado was home forever. He graduated from Centarus High School in Lafayette and shortly thereafter secured a job in framing and carpentry where he worked for 15 years before joining the Petra Custom Builders. He and his wife, Allison, and daughter, Autumn, live in Firestone and in his free time is found on the golf course or at home gardening.
Josh Loomis : Director of Production
Josh was born and raised in Illinois. Starting in middle school, Josh attended prep school in Minnesota where he found a passion for the sport of hockey. Josh has been playing hockey for 30 years now. When he’s not in the ice rink, Josh can be found woodworking, hiking or spending time with his wife and children. He has been married to his wife, Katie, for six years now and they have two children, Weston and Addie as well as a dog named Miya. Josh started working in construction in high school as a laborer in residential construction. After graduating from CU Boulder, he worked for a multi-family/commercial company for eight years. He held multiple positions within that company and his project portfolio grew to include garden-style and high-rise apartment buildings as well as other light commercial projects.
Mark Wissell : Estimator
Mark began his career in the building trades working as a carpenter for a small residential contractor in the Minneapolis suburbs. This introduction to a profession working with his hands, combined with a thirst for knowledge, led him to build a diverse set of skills and contribute to several commercial millwork firms in roles ranging from fabrication, drafting, design, estimating, project and account management. He is a cabinet maker, furniture maker, and aspiring artist currently creating metal wall-hanging landscape pieces.
A Midwesterner transplanted to Colorado in 2015 with his wife Karen, Mark enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle that living along the Front Range affords.
